AGREEMENT -- CATHOLIC CHURCH OF
KUROSAKI, KYUSHU, JAPAN
(19 August 2001 -- Posted 26 August 2005)


PREAMBLE

OBJECTIVE

Article 1: The Agreement-goal is that every member of this parish church actively involves him/herself in promoting evangelization and pastoral activities.

RIGHTS AND DUTIES
Article 2: We, the faithful, have the duty to create, administer, and participate in the parish according to this Agreement based on the right relationship with the pastor.

GENERAL STRUCTURE
Article 3: We are organized in a General Assembly, Evangelization/Pastoral Council, Steering Committee composed of the members of this parish.

I. GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Article 4: A meeting of the General Assembly must in principle take place at least once a year. It is organized by the Evangelization/Pastoral Council.

Article 5: The General Assembly receives reports on the activities, plans, and finances of the Parish. An extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly can be held if necessary.

II. EVANGELIZATION/PASTORAL COUNCIL

Article 6: The Evangelization/Pastoral Council is organized by the Steering committee and meets several times during the year.

STRUCTURE
Article 7: Evangelization/Pastoral Council is composed of the members elected by geographical areas, committees, religious congregations and those recommended by the Council in case of needs.

TASK
Article 8:
1. The Council discusses and decides on those matters important for the growth of the parish. It actively participates in and supports the activities of the parish priest.

.2. The Council creates special committees in charge of faith formation, liturgy, administration, administration of the cemetery, and other needs.
3. The Council facilitates interaction and communication of all the parish members.
4. The Council appoints the president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary and other administrative members in order to guarantee the smooth running of the parish

TERM OF OFFICE
Article 9: The term of the office is two years, with reelection for three terms possible.

III. STEERING COMMITTEE

STRUCTURE
Article 10: The Steering Committee is composed of the members elected by the Council.

TASK
Article 11: The Committee discusses and decides on financial matters and the proposals of the Council.

FREQUENCY
Article 12: The Steering Committee meets every month when called by the president.

TERM OF OFFICE
Article 13: The term of the office is two years, with reelection for three terms possible. The president can be reelected only once.

TREASURER
Article 14: The Treasurer is to be determined separately.

IV. SUPPLEMENTARY RULES

RESPECT FOR THE AUTONOMOUS ACTIVITIES
Article 15: Every aspect of this agreement respects any autonomous activity supported by the faith of individual and does not control or limit other apostolic activities

AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENT
Article 16: The Council is responsible for any revision or addition to this agreement.

This Agreement comes into effect on August 19, 2001.
